AI Prompts for Topical Authority
Conquering the Graph
Topical Authority is not about writing one good post; it's about covering a topic so thoroughly that Google trusts you as an expert. AI is the perfect tool for Topical Mapping. It can visualize the hierarchy of a subject faster than any human.
Phase 1: The Topical Map
Prompt 1: The Hierarchy
"Act as an SEO expert. I want to build topical authority for the niche '[NICHE]'. Break this niche down into 5 main 'Pillar' categories. For each Pillar, list 10 'Cluster' sub-topics. The structure should be hierarchical. Output as a nested list."
Prompt 2: The Entity Extraction
"For the niche '[NICHE]', list the top 20 'Entities' (People, Organizations, Concepts, Tools) that must be mentioned to demonstrate expertise. Explain why each entity is critical to the Knowledge Graph of this topic."
Phase 2: Gap Analysis
Prompt 3: The Missing Link
"Here is a list of articles I have already written: [PASTE TITLES] Based on the core topic '[CORE TOPIC]', what are 5 critical sub-topics I am missing? What gaps would a user feel if they read my blog?"
Prompt 4: The 'Zero-Volume' Gold
"Identify 5 highly specific, technical sub-topics within '[NICHE]' that experts care about but beginners might ignore. These should be 'zero search volume' topics that demonstrate high-level expertise and trust."
Phase 3: Interlinking Strategy
Prompt 5: The Vector Linker
"I am writing a new article about '[NEW TOPIC]'. Here is a list of my existing articles: [PASTE LIST] Suggest 5 internal linking opportunities. Which existing articles should link TO this new one? And which existing articles should this new one link OUT to? Explain the anchor text connection."
Phase 4: Content Depth
Prompt 6: The Comprehensive Checklist
"I am writing a pillar page about '[BROAD TOPIC]'. Create a checklist of every single aspect, nuance, and angle that must be covered for this page to be considered the 'ultimate guide'. Do not leave anything out."
Prompt 7: The FAQ Extractor
"Generate a list of 10 Frequently Asked Questions about '[TOPIC]'. 5 should be basic questions. 5 should be advanced, specific questions that only a practitioner would ask."
The "Hub & Spoke" Workflow
- Use Prompt 1 to define your Hubs (Pillars).
- Use Prompt 6 to write the Hub Page (broad, comprehensive).
- Use Prompt 1 (sub-topics) to identify the Spokes.
- Write the Spoke pages.
- Use Prompt 5 to link them all together.
Result: A dense, interconnected web of content that signals massive authority to search engines.
